When Sam first came to Fortitude Gym in Lydney, she had been told she couldn’t train after an injury. For almost a year, she had done very little exercise — apart from some walking.
“I realised I was too young to do nothing,” Sam recalls. But walking back into a gym felt scary and overwhelming. For the first few weeks, Sam says she even cried in some sessions — not because of the training, but because of the fear of re-injury.
We worked closely with her specilist team to create a return to exercise plan and build her confidence and trust in training again.
